Our Mission
By bringing northern and circumpolar art to the public, we hope to foster an awareness of the far North’s cultural and natural heritage. The far North is one of the most endangered environments in the world, and the first step toward its preservation is helping people to imagine the North. Once we can imagine a place and its inhabitants, we can feel the kind of empathy and concern that leads to action. At True North, we believe that art has the power to do this.
In order to help preserve the North, we donate a percentage of all profits to the National Resources Defense Council. Learn about what the NRDC is doing to help the North by visiting their website at: www.nrdc.org. We also give you a free compact florescent light bulb with every purchase of original art, and information about how replacing your lightbulbs could help to save the North and the rest of the world as well!
About Our Collection
We represent aboriginal art from the far North, as well as non-aboriginal art inspired by the far North. We purchase aboriginal art responsibly, working with reputable organizations, artist cooperatives, and the artists themselves, in order to provide the greatest financial support for the artists and the best prices for our customers. Please visit us often, as our collection is always changing.
